Happy Mother's Day

I want to honor the women who came before me and the women who are helping me raise my daughter to be a whole and happy being. Being a mother is by far the most difficult role I’ve taken on, but it takes a village. Zion taught me how to love and strive for the best. She taught me not to settle and to be the best possible version of myself. You taught me to be the woman of my dreams.

Zion,

I'm not perfect, but everything I do is because I love you and want the best for you. You're the light of my life and the joy of my world. Life isn't easy, but anything you desire you can have with hard work. You'll have to work twice as hard, but I already see your independence and determination. I'll always be here for you to catch you when you fall and help you fly.

I love you Zi,

Your Mommy

i do not expect my child’s respect.
just because i have given birth to their life.
does not mean they owe me.
anything.
what i want most
is to look into my child’s eyes
and
see
that i have given birth
to
a
heart.
have
honored.
held and feed.
someones
heart.
from the moment we first met.
and
they love me for it.
